You can't eat your cake and have it too! by Randy Wyles Executive Editor Special Ops and News.com 10 September 2009 I've covered several U. S. Presidents during my career as a reporter. Some gave good speeches, others were as smooth as the ragged edge of torn sandpaper when conveying their message. But never have I seen a president loose a crowd like Barack Obama lost Congress and the American people.Yeah, I know CNN and a few others have said the "instant" polls show a bump up for Barry & Company following his snake oil pitch on a health care plan that promises to cure what ails ya'. But some people, particularly a hand picked few that CNN called, wouldn't understand how bad this will be for them if you drew stick pictures. Reminds me of our 11-year old daughter who thinks that a large piece of double chocolate cake with fudge icing is exactly what she needs just before bedtime - then lives to regret it when, about two hours later she comes, rubbing her sleepy eyes, complaining of an upset stomach. She's had to learn her lesson the hard way - and so will the people polled by CNN who thought Barry made a convincing argument for his health care plan. By the way, polling 450 people and saying that's what America thinks is about as reflective of what Americans really think as looking at a single sapling and saying you now know what it feels like to be in a forest. The fact is; most people didn't buy the plan before the speech - and most people still don't. Every family knows that if you spend all of your money on frivolous things, you want have anything left for the mortgage. Oh, wait - I keep forgetting. Barry & Company will buy everyone a house - while they are providing everyone with free health care at a cost of about one-trillion dollars. And if you don't think so, visit any hospital emergency room and see who gets turned away - no one. Don't get me wrong - that's the way it should be. Emergency care should be provided in an emergency to anyone who darkens the door of a hospital. But when I have to pay over $800 for an ER visit, even though I have health insurance, and an illegal alien is given the care for free - something's wrong. Rep. Joe Wilson was exactly right when he yelled out "You lie!" as Barry claimed that no illegal aliens will get free health care under the Obama plan. And Wilson should NOT have apologized for the outburst. It was an outrage for Obama to stand there before Congress, the Flag and the American people and tell a bald-face lie that would make any used care salesman proud. Besides, I don't think it's wrong for members of Congress to voice their opinion - expecially when Barry is lying. Ever watch "Questions to the Prime Minister" each Wednesday from Parliament? There's a group of civilized people who openly heckle the Prime Minister of Great Britain as the Prime Minister takes their questions on virtually any subject. Funny that liberals didn't like Wilson's Parliament-style heckle - but they embrace the British-style health care system that works so well - until you get sick. Barry is not a king - he's not even a president. So, I say heckle away before he manages to ban your right to free speech. In the meantime, don't drink the Kool-Aid. This Obama health care plan is as close as we've come to communism. And the Russians will tell you just how well that 70-year experiment worked.
